Anti-M

Anti-M

Anti-M is an antibody directed to an antigen of the MNS blood group. The M antigen was first reported in 1927 and is located on the red blood cell surface of glycoprotein known as glycophorin A. Agglutination of red cells that carry the M antigen occurs with the addition of the Anti-M reagent, following centrifugation. In the absence of the M antigen, no agglutination is generally observed.

The Fortress Diagnostics Anti- M blood grouping reagent contains a murine monoclonal IgG antibody diluted in buffer containing sodium chloride, bovine albumin and a preservative. This reagent is supplied ready for use and does not require any further dilution or addition.
