Fortress Forward Group 3 (Blood Grouping Gel Cards)

Fortress Forward Group 3 (Blood Grouping Gel Cards)

This test allows the detection of ABO, A1, Rh D, Rh D VI and CDE in gel technique.

The ABO system is defined by the presence or absence of the A and/or B antigens in the red blood cells. The ABO blood group system is determined directly by testing the red blood cells with Anti-A and Anti-B reagents.
The determination of Rh D is defined by the presence or absence of the D antigen in the red blood cells. D category VI (DVI) is the clinically most important partial D. DVI is the most abundant serologically defined partial D occurring among weak D samples
The two main subgroups of A are A1 and A2. Red cells of both react strongly with anti A reagents. The serologic distinction between A1 and A2 is based on results obtained in tests with reagent anti-A1, the lectin of Dolichos biflorus seeds.Anti-A1 reagents agglutinate A1 but not A2 red cells.
