The Fortress Diagnostics IgG assay is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of human IgG in human serum and plasma. IgG is the most predominant Immunoglobulin. The measurement of IgG is important for typing immunodeficiency’s and myelomas.  Increased levels are found in chronic infections and chronic inflammation. IgG is the only immunoglobulin that crosses the placenta and is therefore of special importance in infants defence against infection.
