Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH)

Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH)

AMH is a glycoprotein comprising two monomeric molecules linked by disulfide bridges. As a transforming growth factor, the AMH in males is secreted by the Sertoli cells. It is responsible for the regression of the para-mesonephric ducts in males. After puberty, the level of AMH in males decreases slowly to insignificant levels. In females, AMH is crucial in the development of follicles and is a diagnostic tool for detecting the ovarian reserve. Levels of AMH after menopause become undetectable.

The Fortress Diagnostics Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH) kit is intended for the quantitative determination of (AMH) in human serum and plasma, cell culture supernatants, body fluids and tissue homogenates.
