Urinalysis

Urinalysis is an important screening an diagnostic tool, used to diagnose disease or to screen patients for health problems. Urine strips offer a simple and cost-efficient urine diagnosis solution, detecting substances or cells in the urine that point to different disorders. 

Fortress Diagnostics' urine strips come in pack sizes of 100 or 150, can be read in as little as 30 seconds after dipping and measure the following:

  • Urobilinogen: Can indicate a liver disease such as hepatitis or cirrhosis.
  • Blood: Can highlight signs of an infection or a kidney problem.
  • Ketone: May indicate diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), a complication of diabetes.
  • Glucose: Usually a sign of diabetes.
  • Protein: May indicate a problem with the kidneys.
  • Acidity (pH): A high pH may be be a sign of kidney stones, urinary infections, kidney problems, or other disorders.
  • Bilirubin: It's presence in the urine can be a sign of liver disease. 
  • Nitrite: An indicator of a urinary tract infection (UTI).
  • Specific Gravity (SG): Can help determine how well kidneys are diluting urine, detecting poor kidney function or dehydration. 
  • Leucocytes: High levels suggest an infection. 
  • Ascorbic Acid: May indicate an inflammation in the urinary tract or kidneys, likely caused by a bacterial urinary tract infection (UTI).
